~ The Landscape Design Process ~

Creating a beautiful landscape design is a process that takes
4 – 5 weeks depending of the scope of the project.
It requires inquiry, planning, research, and review.

Initial On-Site Consultation

The next step in the process is to schedule an initial on-site consultation. At this two hour meeting I come prepared with specific information about your site to aid us in determining what is possible. We will evaluate your existing gardens, make suggestions regarding layout and design elements, and answer any questions you might have. There is a $300 fee for this consultation.

Design Proposal

After the initial consultation, if you decide a full design is right for you, then a proposal is drawn up.  It details the scope of the design work and the elements to be included in your project. Upon receipt of the signed proposal and a 50% design retainer, I am usually able begin the design phase of your project right away. Note: at this point, a client supplied site plan or property survey is required for most projects.

Site Analysis

During the site analysis, I evaluate existing gardens and take specific measurements necessary for drafting your new landscape design plan. In addition, I will take photographs and map out in detail the location of existing hardscape and plant materials.

Conceptual Drawings

Next, I draft one or more concept drawings that give you a visual layout of various ideas combined with your requests and preferences. We then meet together to review these ideas and discus the proposed plant materials and hardscape options.

Master Landscape Plan

Finally, everything that appealed to you from the concept drawing(s) will be assembled into a comprehensive Master Landscape Plan. All Plans are computer generated, full color drawings with information on plants, hardscape materials, and structures. A Customized Information Packet is also included which features photos, plant identification information, and maintenance guidelines.

Project Management & Installation

When you are ready to implement your project, I would be happy to be with you every step of the way; from the bid process to the installation of the landscape design. The best results are obtained when I work with the landscape contractors from start to finish to ensure the vision of the design is executed the way it was intended.

DIY Tutorial

Another great feature I provide is a hands-on tutorial (upon request) for my Do-It-Yourself clients: because the foundation of a beautiful landscape is a healthy landscape! It emphasizes proper soil preparation, planting techniques, and the maintenance requirements needed to protect your investment.

I'm Ready to Get Started

I contacted Jenny to help with some basic knowledge of my yard and to put in a plan to make my front bed an inviting space that matched the rest of my landscape. She was extremely helpful and gave me a lot of great information on things I could do to make my yard look good. She was very knowledgeable about the specific plants I needed and the ways to color coordinate them. I was able to take her ideas and put them to work immediately including trimming trees, tearing out current landscaping, and plotting a new design based on her recommendations. I have not completely finished the yard, but as of right now, the compliments on the work I have done have been amazing. Thank you Jenny for helping me transform my yard.
